We are very pleased to announce that Mati Nõmmiste, the managing partner of Grant Thornton Baltic and sworn auditor, was awarded the Order of Merit of the Estonian Auditor's Association on October 20!

Mati Nõmmiste received the badge for years of outstanding contribution, work and development of auditing field in Estonia, including managing the activities of the Auditor's Council. Nõmmiste has been a member of the board, vice president and president of the Estonian Auditor's Association.

The Auditor's Association's Order of Merit is issued by the board of the association to highlight and recognize outstanding developers of auditing activities in Estonia. Normally, the badges are awarded every five years since 2015 (eight people received the badge on that year). Due to the corona virus, in 2020 the badges of the Auditor's Association were not given out, so this year in October, badges were awarded for the second time. In addition to Mati Nõmmiste, four other people received the Order of Merit. Mart Nõmper, vice-president of the Auditor's Association and partner of Grant Thornton Baltic, said that everyone who received the badge this year have something in common; in addition to their personal contribution to auditing, they have also developed strong and active auditing companies that help keep the Estonian business environment reliable.
