Grant Thornton Baltic was awarded with the bronze recognition label of Mental Health Supportive Employer by Peaasi.ee

The peaasi.ee team, which has taken the promotion of mental health into its heart, issues recognition labels for organizations that value mental health. For the first time, Grant Thornton Baltic also applied for the label and it is a great pleasure to announce that we were considered worthy of the bronze level!

The purpose of issuing the recognition label is to recognize those organizations that value the mental well-being of their employees and take conscious steps to ensure that people's health is maintained at work. Mental Health Supportive Employer

"At Grant Thornton Baltic, we believe that if an employer cares about its people not only in words, but also in actions, then it is natural to invest in taking care of mental health. This time we received a bronze level recognition label. The promotion of mental health continues to be a matter of honor in our company, and by continuing to act consistently, we will definitely reach the next levels as well," confirmed Marge Litvinova, Head of People and Culture of Grant Thornton Baltic.

How do we take care of our employees?

Activities related to the supporting of employees' mental health and the prevention of problems are not new in our company. We have been consciously engaged in this since the outbreak of the corona pandemic, i.e. almost five years. Since mind and body are inseparable, Grant Thornton Baltic naturally takes pride in maintaining and improving physical health. In addition, everything that goes along with a good management culture: regular one-on-one conversations with employees to both receive and give feedback, encouraging the succession of new managers and continuous training of young managers, etc. Here are a few more examples of what we do in taking care of our team of more than a hundred and fifty people.

  • We ensure that people's workload is optimal even during very busy periods and that employees have support when they need it.
  • We offer the opportunity to participate in regular seminars on mental health in order to increase people's awareness and help them to complete their "toolbox" with various techniques that help keep the mental health in balance. Most of the employees participate in these seminars.
  • We offer additional health insurance, which also includes psychological help. Our cooperation partner is the Ojaveere Therapy Center, where our employees can attend various therapies. About 10% of employees currently use this option.
  • We pay sports compensation to support employees in taking care of their physical well-being.
  • We organize various activities that strengthen both team spirit and health. For example, we do team events, company-wide events, play tennis, padel and soccer, go on spring hikes and canoeing. We also have monthly walking challenges in the YuMuuv environment, etc.
  • We set a rich fruit table every Tuesday in the Tallinn and Tartu offices.
  • We have created opportunities to work remotely.
  • We have a children's room in the office so that colleagues can take their children to work for a while if necessary. Well-behaved dogs are also welcome, petting them is a good way to take some time off in the middle of the working day.

What are the results of all this?

We have been conducting employee satisfaction surveys for years, and we are very pleased to see that the results have been on the rise. We also have a very high employer recommendation index or eNPS – 64%. "This is a clear sign that our people feel good at work, they are motivated to do their work well and the relations between colleagues are good. So there are a number of beneficial factors of dealing with the so-called softer side of working life, starting from a better working atmosphere and work performance, and ending with a decrease in employee turnover," Marge Litvinova noted.

Of course, clients also win – our client Net Promoter Score is 73%. "Knowing that we are cared for, that we can trust each other and that we feel good is contagious," Litvinova rejoiced. So it goes without saying that we continue to support mental (and of course physical) health in the workplace so that every employee feels valued and cared for.
